Avesil is a fairly new diet pill on the market that claims to be a “safe, effective weight control formula made form ingredients supported by substantial published scientific research.”  And that “With Avesil you can expect to lose significantly more weight than with a healthy diet or exercise alone.”  Our interest was perked as they mentioned “published scientific research” as that is what we base the majority of our ratings on.  Unfortunately we were sorely let down by Avesil.  The following Avesil review will detail why.

Chromium - Chromium’s claim to weight loss is through regulation of blood sugar levels.  While it has been proven that chromium is needed to regulate your blood sugar, the jury is still out as to whether or not this correlates directly with weight loss (although there are many that do believe so).

Garcinia Cambogia - Has been shown in clinical studies to be effective in appetite suppression.

Ingredient Update: The FDA has issued a warning against Hydroxycut-branded products for possibly causing health problems related with the liver. While the FDA has not confirmed it, some believe that the ingredient behind the problems is Hyrdoxycitric Acid, or HCA. HCA is found in Garcinia Cambogia. So until more definitive research is done, we are no longer recommending any products that contain the ingredient Hyrdoxycitric Acid. Green Tea - Known for its fat burnign capabilities, green tea has been shown in many clinical studies to effectively aid to weight loss.  It increases the metabolic rate and also contains caffeine which is an effective weight loss stimulant.  Avesil contains 150 mg of green tea.  The studies that we’ve found use more green tea (at least 300 mg) so it’s difficult to say whether or not the amount in Avesil will be effective.

Caffeine Anhydrous - A fancy name for dehydrated caffeine, caffeine anhydrous is another proven weight loss supplement.  It is a stimulant that effectively boosts your metabilism and your energy levels.  Caution should be taken by those who are unable to handle stimulants well.

The ingredient profile in Avesil actually looks somewhat promising.  We like that they have disclosed the amounts of each ingredient (something that not many do).  It’s unclear, however, if those amounts are high enough to be effective.

Avesil’s Marketing (the evil autoship)

Unfortunately we’ve seen a dangerous trend in the marketing of many of these new diet pills.  This trend is the use of a “free trial” to con people into enrolling into their autoship program which quickly becomes a complete nightmare in most cases.  You’ll notice on Avesil’s website that there is no option of simply buying a bottle of their diet pills.  The only option that they give you is to accept your “free trial” where you only pay shipping and handling and you get a 30 day supply of Avesil.  Well, what the vast majority of people aren’t going to see is the fine print in their “terms and conditions.”  I’ve copied part of their terms and conditions below.

“Start your RISK-FREE Trial today and we will send you a full 30-day supply of Avesil. Just pay $5.95 in shipping and processing. You will have 14 days to try Avesil and discover why it is the perfect Weight-Control Formula for you. If you are satisfied with Avesil, do nothing - at the end of your free-trial period you will be charged the price of $89.95. If for any reason Avesil is not for you, call Customer Care toll-free at 866-730-3330 within your 14-day free-trial period to cancel. Then simply return the product (even if it is empty!) and you will NEVER be billed. No commitments, no hassles.

Plus, if you decide to keep Avesil, you will receive FREE acceptance in Avesil Elite (as if it is some privilege to be ripped off by these guys through the autoship) and will receive a fresh supply of Avesil approximately every 30 days at the same low price of $89.95, a 22% discount. Now, it’s one thing when you are open about the autoship so that consumers are aware of it.  It’s a whole new thing when you hide it in the fine print, hoping that nobody sees it.  Also, there are plenty of complaints online about these autoship programs and the extreme difficulty in cancelling the program or even contacting anyone at all.  Do your research before buying into these things and please don’t get burned like so many have.  Shame on Avesil and all the other companies that engage in the same shady and unethical marketing.

Avesil’s Price

As you can see above in their terms and conditions (not anywhere on the main page at all), one bottle of Avesil is $89.95.  While the ingredients in the pill may be effective, the amounts may be a little low and there are plenty of other diet pills out there with even better ingredients and even higher amounts (and at a lower price).  Even if they didn’t have the autoship, at $89.95, Avesil is a ripoff.

Avesil’s Gaurantee

So in their FAQ’s they say “We have a no-questions-asked 100% money-back guarantee.”  In their terms and conditions, however, you’ll find the following:

“Shipping and processing fees are non-refundable. All sales after the free-trial period are final.

Please note that we cannot process packages marked “Return to Sender”. Returned packages require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number to ensure accurate processing. RMA numbers can be obtained by calling Avesil Customer Care at 866-730-3330.”

I’m somewhat confused about the “all sales after the free-trial period are final” thing.  Also, if you can return it, it appears that you have to call Avesil to get an “authorization” number.  This usually means that when you call they give you the runaround and explain to you why you aren’t able to return it.

Their “no-questions-asked 100%  money-back guarantee” suddenly doesn’t look so “no-questions-asked” now does it?

Conclusion

The ingredients in Avesil are for the most part good ingredients.  The amounts, however, are questionable.  But even if they had the miracle drug to weight loss, I still wouldn’t even consider doing business with them because of their shady sales tactics.  It’s a ripoff and I hope that you can see it for what it is.  There are many other diet pill alternatives out there that provide a great ingredient profile along with straight forward business practices.  Two big thumbs down for Avesil
