The Dietrine diet pill wants to help you lose weight by blocking the amount of carbohydrates that your body is able to absorb and store, touting “an exclusive formulation of research-supported botanical ingredients.” But of course, we aren’t going to take this company’s word for it right off the bat. Let’s take a look at the facts.

Chromium-This ingredient plays a key role in the regulation of blood sugar, but don’t be fooled. It can help regulate blood sugar, but this hasn’t been proven to help you lose weight.

Phase 2 Blend-Phaseoulus vulgaris, or Phase 2 Blend, is a “proprietary” designed to help block starch. Studies have shown that phaseoulus vulgaris helps with starch regulation, and is actually backed by a good amount of research. We like Phase 2 but since it’s the really the only good ingredient in the diet pill, we don’t think that it can stand on its own.

Vanadium-A chemical element. Too much vanadium could cause irritation of lungs, throat, eyes and nasal cavities. Oh, and it won’t help you lose weight either.

But again, why would you want to sell other people on a diet pill with unproven ingredients? And why would you want to pay this company to do it? I feel like these marketers are just trying to wow us with all this clinical study jargon, but when you get down to it, there’s not a lot of substance there. Read the fine print: Dietrine was never the subject of any of these studies mentioned.
