Claimed to be the “#1 Selling Brand of Hoodia in America,” Hoodiastar is one of the many emerging diet pills based on the new fad ingredient, Hoodia Gordonii. Hoodiastar attempts to help you lose weight by acting as an appetite suppressant, helping you to lower your intake of calories.
I hate to ruin this review already, but being that it’s main marketing push is that it is filled with hoodia, we’re already not liking Hoodiastar at all. I’ll do my best to give an objective look. Who knows, maybe they have something besides hoodia that might work. Not likely, but possible.
Hoodiastar Ingredient(s)
Well, I tried. Turns out that Hoodiastar includes only one igredient, hoodia gordonii. Hoodia gordonii has become the latest fad in diet pills lately despite the fact that there has been no clinical studies that have actually shown it to be effective. Hoodia is a worthless diet pill ingredient that great marketing has made famous. We believe the only way to know if an ingredient is effective is by seeing it in well documented research and clinical studies. Hoodia falls short on this requirement.
Hoodiastar’s Marketing
Hoodiastar is clearly marketed towards women. One common tactic that we also see here is they posts the magazine covers and news channel logos to add perceived credibility. I dare venture to say that Hoodiastar has been shown on none of these. It’s possible that hoodia (as an ingredient) has appeared on them due to it being a big fad, but I’m Hoodiastar itself has not.
Hoodiastar’s Autoship Program - The only option that they give you to purchase Hoodiastar is to accept their “$1 risk free trial.” Looks fishy already. It turns out that by accepting this $1 trial, you are automatically enrolled in their autoship program which sends you a bottle of Hoodiastar every month and automatically charges your credit card every month. Once you make you’re “risk free trial” order you only have 20 days to cancel (you have to return the unused portion of the product in order to cancel) or you’ll be charged $38.95 for that first bottle. This is a horrible tactic to trick you into buying their product. And you can bet that it’s not going to be easy to cancel and especially to get any of your money back once the autoship program starts.
It doesn’t end there. By accepting the “$1 trial” you are also automatically enrolled in the FitFactory program which starts charging your credit card $39.95 every month after 21 days. By the way, all of this information is included at the bottom of the purchase page in small print. If this sounds rediculous and unethical, that’s because it is!

As already mentioned, its $38.95 per month on the autoship program. For the ingredient that you’re getting, I wouldn’t pay $2.

They have a (short) 30 day (from the invoice date, so subtract all the days that it spends in the mail) money back guarantee on all unopened bottles. They do accept opened bottles on the trial offer only.
Conclusion
I wouldn’t recommend this product simply based on its ingredient profile. Hoodia doesn’t work and shouldn’t even be considered. But I not only fail to recommend Hoodiastar, I warn all others not to even touch it! This being because of the dangerous autoship program that is sure to steal your money and give you migranes should you ever try to cancel your “subscription.” Their marketing is extremely shady and their price is rediculous! Look for a quality diet pill that has proven ingredients, in the proven amounts, with a proven lifetime guarantee.
