According to its website LYSE XL is “a special blend of natural herbs which contributes to better food absorption. Due to its natural properties LYSE XL burns fat effectively. You don’t have to resort to crash diets or break a sweat at a gym any more.” For now, we’ll just ignore the fact that they are trying to tell us that you can lose weight without exercising and focus on what this product contains.

Ingredients

Commifora Mukul (Guggulsterones)-Guggulsterones come from the Commiphora Mukul plant, commonly known as the guggul plant. Most diet pill companies include guggulsterones while touting its claimed fat buring capabilities. The claim is that the guggelsterones help in thyroid stimulation, hence helping your metabolism. A higher metabolism translates into more burned fat. Unfortunately, research is somewhat lacking regarding these claims.

Smilax China-Sometimes used in traditional Chinese medicine to aid in digestion.

Terminalia Belerica-A type of fruit that is also sometimes used for digestion.

Phyllanthus Emblica-Sometimes used in ayurvedic medicine to treat various conditions-none of which are obesity.

Zingiber Officinale (Ginger)-Ginger is believed to help with nausea, arthritis, and heart disease. Asian cultures have also used it for years to help with digestion.

Piper Longum, Piper Nigrum (Pepper)-Though pepper can help add flavor to your food, don’t count on it to shrink your waistline.

Garcinia Cambogia-Garcinia cambogia’s effectiveness comes from its main compound, HCA (hydroxycitric acid). HCA has been shown in clinical studies to suppress appetite and inhibit fat production. Some supporters call it an alternative to caffeine as it does not have the same side effects such as jitters or high blood pressure.

Ingredient Update: The FDA has issued a warning against Hydroxycut-branded products for possibly causing health problems related with the liver. Fancy names don’t mean they are effective ingredients

The only ingredient in LYSE XL that has been proven to be effective is garcinia cambogia. Other than that, the ingredients listed as just the scientific names for things like ginger and black pepper-not too impressive! I guess they thought that if they listed the scientific names, LYSE XL would sound more extraordinary, but I wouldn’t fall for that trick for a second.

There are a few testimonials on the LYSE XL website, but there are no studies to back up this company’s claims or even a whole lot of information (other than marketing fluff saying how great this diet pill is). Basically, this company is trying to sell you a quick fix, trying to convince you that you don’t need to exercise or change your habits to lose weight, and in the end will leave you disappointed and no thinner than when you started.
