Phenterfein Diet Pill Review
Critic's Top Pick
We're often asked if we ever rate a diet pill positively. The answer is that we do (rarely). Why don't we recommend Phenterfein? We're looking for clinically-researched ingredients, at the clinical dosage. There are a few diet pills that have chosen to take this high road, and our favorite is Apidexin. You can read our review or go to the official site.
Phenterfein claims that they “spared NO EXPENSE making it.” And that they “searched high and low to find the WORLD’S BEST appetite suppressing, mind stimulating, mood enhancing, energy producing, and metabolism enhancing ingredients.* And we didn’t skimp on how much of each ingredient is in the bottle. In fact we MAXED out how much of each ingredient we could legally and safely put into each serving.”
That caught our attention for two reasons. One, our main complaint with diet pill companies is that many do not put enough of the ingredient in diet pill to do any good. They put a fraction of the proven amount in the pill, while still being able to advertise that they have the great ingredient. When Phenterfein commented about the correct amounts of the ingredients, it perked our interest. And two, it sounded a bit hyped up so we wanted to make sure that it was true.
Read on as we delve a bit deeper into their ingredient profile and company to see if Phenterfein is all they claim that it is.
Phenterfein Ingredints
- Thiamin (5 mg)
- Niacin (5 mg)
- Pantothenic Acid (5 mg)
- Vitamin B-6 (250 mcg)
- Vitamin B-12 (20 mcg)
- Glucuronolactone (182.5 mg)
- L-Tyrosine (150 mg)
- Rhodiola Rosea (100 mg)
- L-Taurine (100 mg)
- Citrus Aurantium (50 mg)
- Caffeine (100 mg)
- Octopamine HCL (50 mg)
- Evodia Rutaecarpa (45 mg)
- Salvia Sclarea (20 mg)
- Yohimbine (12.5 mg)
- Vinpocetine (3 mg)
L-Tyrosine - An amino acid that helps cells to synthesize proteins. L-Tyrosine has been clinically proven to help in weight loss and is backed a ton of research. That research, however suggests a minimum dose of 500 mg to be effective (much higher than the 150 mg in Phenterfein.)
Citrus Aurantium - The active (and helpful) ingredient in citrus aurantium is synephrine. Synephrine is a stimulant that has been shown to effectively promote weight loss. Some warn of adverse side effect, such as jitters, common to stimulants. Here’s the thing: it’s difficult to say how much synephrine is actually contained in the citrus aurantium, making it very hard to suggest that the 50 mg of citrus aurantium included in Phenterfein will make a big enough difference.
Caffeine - Is a stimulant that has a considerable amount of research backing its claims to aid in weight loss. We agree with that research.
Yohimbine - Has been shown in some studies to increase fatty acid mobilization.
Other ingredients included have been shown to have overall health benefits, but research is still lacking concerning their effectiveness in weight loss.
Phenterfein’s Marketing
Their website is like most. Nothing too different here. They make some claims that I don’t beleive are exactly true (such as citrus aurantium being banned). We do like that they at least provide information on their ingredients and have a clear ingredient focus, which is good. Their testimonials are all from 2006. Looks like they haven’t updated much.
Phenterfein’s Price
$79.99 per bottle of 120 capsules. This is priced a little more on the higher end of diet pills.
Phenterfein’s Guarantee
There is no mention of a guarantee on site. Nor could I find any contact information. Not a good sign.
Conclusion
Phenterfein contains a few ingredients that are likely to make a difference. The caffeine, especially, will help you lose weight and aid in your workouts (especially if you take the recommended 3 capsules). The amounts of some of the ingredients are up to par, but others are lacking. It’s a stimulant pill, so be careful if you don’t do well with caffeine and other stimulants. The price is a little high for what you’re getting. The lack of a guarantee always makes us a bit hesitant. There are other diet pills out there for the same price that give you more bang for your buck.
