SLIMQUICK Diet Pill Review
Critic's Top Pick
We're often asked if we ever rate a diet pill positively. The answer is that we do (rarely). Why don't we recommend SLIMQUICK? We're looking for clinically-researched ingredients, at the clinical dosage. There are a few diet pills that have chosen to take this high road, and our favorite is Apidexin. You can read our review or go to the official site.
SLIMQUICK claims to work “in six ways to help address the physical reasons women have trouble losing weight – reduces excess water retention, balances hormones, reduces stress, increases metabolism, increases energy and reduces appetite.” SLIMQUICK now has a “New and Improved” version of their regular SLIMQUICK formula. They’ve “improved” their formula by adding our “favorite” ingredient, you guessed it, hoodia gardonii (an absoultely worthless diet pill ingredient) and ginseng.
This review will delve a bit deaper into SLIMQUICK to give us better view of the benefit that it actually provides.
SLIMQUICK Ingredients
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin K
- Vitamin B6
- Folic Acid
- Vitamin B12
- Calcium
- SLIMQUICK 6 WAYS Proprietary Blend (630 mg)
- Green Tea
- Caffeine
- Hoodia Gordonii
- Rhodiola Extract
- Chaste Tree Extract
- Juniper Extract
- Soy Extract
- Asian Ginseng
- Brown Seaweed
- Dandelion
- Yerba Mate
- Uva-ursi
- Japanese Knotweed Extract
- Phytosterols
- L-Theanine
Vitamin D, vitamin K, vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin B12, and Calcium are all very important and beneficial vitamins that help to improve overall health but that do nothing that directly contributes to weight loss.
Green Tee - A proven weight loss supplement, green tea is known to increase energy and fat oxidation. While we are huge fans of green tea (because it is backed by a ton of well documented, legitimate research), SLIMQUICK doesn’t disclose exactly how much green tea is included in its propreitary blend. With the whole blend being only 630 mg, however, you can bet that it wouldn’t be enough green tea to make a difference (unless it took up almost all of the 630 mg).
Caffeine - Another one of the few ingredients that has been proven to aid in weight loss in many, many studies. Its known to increase energy levels dramitacally, having an large impact during exercise. Again, the small amount of the proprietary blend leads us to believe that there likely isn’t enough caffeine to be effective. Ginseng is also beleived by some to increase energy levels (although these claims are not highly supported by studies).
Hoodia Gardonii - As already mentioned, people (at least the sellers of hoodia) claim that it aids in appetite supression. Yet despite the insane amount of publicity that it is currently receiving, it has absolutely no documented clinical research backing it up. Hoodia is a fad. A fad that is making their wallets alot heavier and not making you any lighter.
L-Theanine - While research is seriously lacking with regards to its effectiveness in weight loss, L-Theanine has been shown to aid in stress levels.
The other ingredients aren’t very likely to substantially aid in weight loss. And even if the ingredients were effective, I don’t see how you could possibly fit a high enough amount of each ingredient to make them effective. Don’t be misled by the long list of ingredients. You really only need the correct amounts of a few quality ingredients to have an effective diet pill.
SLIMQUICK’s Marketing
The SLIMQUICK webpage is part of the broader SLIMQUICK website that covers a handful of SLIMQUICK products. Overall it is a professional looking site that is geared towards a female audience. The information provided, however, is quite minimal with respect to the actual products and ingredients included. They do provide some information on their “SLIMQUICK Program” which basically includes taking SLIMQUICK, eating healthy, exercising, and “staying with it.”
They also claim that it helps women in 6 different ways (water, hormones, stress, metabolism, energy, and appetite) yet they fail to explain how the diet pill actually aids in these areas.
SLIMQUICK’s Price
$44.99 per bottle. You can, however, get one for as low as $33.95 at most online stores. One bottle is a month supply if taking the recommended 4 capsules per day.
SLIMQUICK’s Guarantee
They offer a 45 day money back guarantee on all first time offers. We like to see guarantees overs at least 60 days, so SLIMQUICK’s doesn’t really get us excited. They don’t mention if it is just for unopened bottles or for empty ones. Also, they only honor the return if you bought the product directly from SLIMQUICK LABORATORIES.
Conclusion
We find SLIMQUICK to be neither “new” nor “improved” as claimed. The addition of hoodia raised a big red flag for us showing that they are more inclined to try to make another buck by including a fad ingredient then to provide a quality product that will actually be effective for those who use it. The proprietary blend isn’t large enough to contain the effective amounts of the myriad of ingredients that it is advertising. Their guarantee isn’t very good and their webiste provides very little helpful information. We suggest you look elsewhere for a product with the right amounts of proven ingredients and that isn’t jumping on the hoodia bandwagon.
