Super Citrimax
Super Citrimax is a patented formula that contains hydroxycitric acid or HCA. Taken from the fruit Gardinia Cambogia, HCA is been shown in clinical studies to suppress appetite and inhibit fat production. Supporters call it an alternative to caffeine as it does not have the same side effects such as jitters or high blood pressure (like many stimulants do).
Research
Thankfully, Super Citrimax is actually backed by a good amount of credible research. In one study of 50 obese women in Thailand, HCA was shown to aid in weight loss by a statistically significant amount. According to the report, the weight loss was “due to a loss of fat storage as evidenced by a significant decrease in triceps skin fold thickness.”1
HCA has also been shown to be particularly effective when combined with chromium and gymnema sylvestre. Subjects showed a suppressed appetite, decreased body weight, increased fat oxidation, and other benefits. 2 You will often see a quality diet pill include chromium and gymnema sylvestre to accompany Super Citrimax to aid in its effectiveness.
Conclusion
Super Citrimax is supported by a number of credible studies citing positive results with respect to weight loss. As it is a patented ingredient, not many diet pills are including it in their formula because of its high price tag. Any diet pill containing Super Citrimax deserves a good look as it is shows that the company is concerned more about providing a quality product than they are about padding their margins. Bottom line: It’s an effective ingredient. Thumbs up for Super Citrimax.
Ingredient Update: The FDA has issued a warning against Hydroxycut-branded products for possibly causing health problems related with the liver. While the FDA has not confirmed it, some believe that the ingredient behind the problems is Hyrdoxycitric Acid, or HCA. HCA is found in Garcinia Cambogia. So until more definitive research is done, we are no longer recommending any products that contain the ingredient Hyrdoxycitric Acid. See the complete FDA report here or the Hydroxycut Review here for more info.
