Thyrox T-3, made by Absolute Nutrition, is another diet pill that claims to help you lose weight by boosting your thyroid output and metabolism. The idea is that by dieting, you often slow your metabolism because you’re not eating as much. Thyrox T-3 tries to combat that by giving your thyroid gland a kick, which in theory should help boost your metabolism.

So how does Thyrox T-3 look in terms of actual performace? Let’s take a look:

• Phosphatidyl Choline

Guggulsterones - Derived from the guggul plant, guggulsterones are believed to help stimulate your thyroid function. Research, however is lacking regarding these claims.

L-Tyrosine – There’s actually a good amount of research that backs up l-tyrosine’s claims to help in weight loss. It has been shown to help synthesize proteins.

Garcinia Cambogia – Has been shown to be an effective appetite suppressant.

Ingredient Update: The FDA has issued a warning against Hydroxycut-branded products for possibly causing health problems related with the liver. While the FDA has not confirmed it, some believe that the ingredient behind the problems is Hyrdoxycitric Acid, or HCA. HCA is found in Garcinia Cambogia. So until more definitive research is done, we are no longer recommending any products that contain the ingredient Hyrdoxycitric Acid. The other ingredients aren’t likely to do much in terms of weight loss for you. All in all, Thyrox T-3 has a pretty average ingredient profile, which is clearly geared towards increasing your metabolism through thyroid stimulation.
