Wrap Factor by BodyBoutique Review

If you’ve never heard of body wrapping (as in weight loss, not as in mummies), you’ve probably not spent too much looking at diet pills and weight loss remedies. Body wraps are a type of quick-fix treatment often used in health spas and by alternative medicine therapists to release “toxins” from your body and ultimately make you look slimmer.  Wrap Factor by BodyBoutique is a do-it-yourself product from Europe that allows you to try this alternative health sensation yourself (though for a serious price). It comes in versions for both men and women, though the package is basically the same. We don’t put much, okay, ANY stock, in body wraps or Wrap Factor by BodyBoutique and here’s why -

Wrap Factor by BodyBoutique Ingredients

First, what you get in your kit:

  • 2 Bandages
  • 4 Clay Sachets
  • Measuring Tape
  • Instruction Booklet
  • Skin Firming Cream (Either called “Abs cream” or “Cellulite cream” depending on whether the kit is the male or female version.)

What you actually do with all this is soak the bandages in boiling water along with the clay/mineral sachets (that’s British for “packets”) and when they’re cool enough to bear, you wrap an area of your body with them, usually your tummy or thighs.  Then you cover up to stay warm and sweat it out for about an hour.  While you may see an inch or two lost from the area, what has actually happened is the minerals in the wrap have sapped out some of the water in your skin, making it shrink slightly. It doesn’t take much to shrink an inch, but it is unlikely to be very noticeable.

The ingredients in clay packets aren’t given, though the company tells us that “Wrap Factor represents a fusion of natural ingredients – almond oil, vitamin E, fennel, juniper berry and cypress – that work in harmony with each other and with your body, to leave you feeling refreshed, invigorated and purified.”  These ingredients may be fine for a nice skin cream (mainly for the Vitamin E), but there is definitely nothing here that could translate into fat or cellulite loss.

Wrap Factor by BodyBoutique Marketing

If you look past the fact that they’re selling you an absolutely ineffective way to lose weight by calling it “inch loss” instead of weight loss, the marketing for Wrap Factor is actually pretty straight-forward.

“Wrap Factor is an innovative and easy-to-use body wrap designed to promote instant inch loss, detoxify, tone and firm your body.”

It claims to be a “refinement of tried and tested Salon techniques”, “you can firm, tone, detox and lose inches in one simple process. Afterwards you can use the Cellulite Cream to add a finishing touch!”

Wrap Factor by BodyBoutique Price

Selling for about 50 euros (or $72) on average, this is the priciest package of cloth and clay we’ve seen. As this isn’t even really marketed as a way to lose weight, this wouldn’t compare favorably in value to almost any diet pill out there.

Wrap Factor by BodyBoutique Guarantee

Wrap Factor comes with no satisfaction guarantee or return policy.  What you see is what you get, whether you like it or not.

Wrap Factor by BodyBoutique Conclusion

Based on the process of osmosis, you may see an inch or two decrease in your waist or thighs temporarily from using Wrap Factor.  This may be just enough to get you into that dress for a wedding or the suit pants you haven’t worn in forever for an important interview, but the effect won’t last for more than a day.  In the end, you’ll have paid a pretty penny for something a good diet pill could have done much more effectively and cheaply.  Wrap Factor isn’t a weight loss solution and it doesn’t get rid of “toxins”, regardless of what the alternative health gurus will tell you.
