Fastin was originally sold as a prescription weight loss drug containing the appetite suppressing agent phentermine, but was withdrawn from the market in 1998 by its maker, Smith Kline Beecham.

King Pharmaceuticals was the manufacturer/distributor of Fastin and no doubt did not want to lose what had become a valuable brand name. They then “reformulated” Fastin without phentermine, virtually creating an entirely different diet pill than the original, which could be considered deceptive marketing tactics.

In fact, the Fastin site actually seems intentionally attempt to trick people into thinking they are getting a generic version of the prescription drug Phentermine. In reality, Fastin is a very small proprietary blend (245 mg) of basically Phenylethylamine—a substance not known to promote weight loss.

Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, the company that now makes Fastin has a questionable record. You can read about their Federal Indictment for their involvement “relating to a scheme to sell adulterated and unapproved drugs over the internet” at http://www.usdoj.gov/criminal/cybercrime/wheatIndict.htm

Fastin’s Proprietary Blend

Phenylethylamine HCL

R-Beta-Methylphenylethylamine

methylphenylethylamine tartrate

methylsynephrine HCL

N-Methyl-phenylethylamine HCL

Synephrine HCL

Theobromine Anhydrous

Yohimbine HCL

Phenylethylamines (Phenylethylamine HCL, R-Beta-Methylphenylethylamine, methylphenylethylamine tartrate, methylsynephrine HCL, N-Methyl-phenylethylamine HCL) are related to amphetamines which may increase extracellular levels of dopamine, helping to alleviate depression. As for its application to weight loss, there is no direct connection.

Synephrine is a stimulant. Its effectiveness is widely debated, but synephrine has gained popularity as an alternative to ephedrine (since ephedrine is now illegal to use in most countries).

Theobromine is a bitter alkaloid of the cacao plant. It can act as a stimulant to boost metabolic functions, which may help the body burn more calories.

Yohimbe is known as an aphrodisiac and is often included in diet supplements even though it has no demonstrated application to weight loss

Fastin’s Sneaky Marketing

In addition to claims that it will make you lose weight, Fastin is also marketed as a “mood promoter” since it has ingredients that may raise dopamine levels.

As previously mentioned, the Fastin site actually seems intentionally attempt to trick people into thinking they are getting a generic version of the prescription drug Phentermine, while they have actually replaced the Phentermine with a substance not known to promote weight loss! That’s pretty shady.

Fastin Price

At $90 a bottle this supplement is way overpriced.

If you opt for the Fastin Free Trial then you pay $8.95 (which is a break-even for them most likely) but then you’re a part of the “Netnutri Fastin Diet Club”, where you are on autopay for a two-month shipment for a whopping $139.90!

Fastin Guarantee

They have a very weak 30-day return policy and it applies to only unopened bottles. This kind of guarantee isn’t any better than no guarantee at all. How are you supposed to know if it works if you can’t try it? Apparently they don’t want you to be able see if it works. (Hmmm, I wonder why?)

Conclusion

Fastin uses deceptive marketing techniques. Their main ingredient does not promote weight loss, the guarantee is worthless, and it’s quite expensive. So, do you think we’re going to recommend this pill? That’s right. Not a chance! Save your hard-earned money for something a lot less sketchy.

They provide the supplement in a liquid form rather than in pill form. They claim that ” the Hoodia Chaser liquid extract will provide a more potent and effective restult than any Hoodia diet pill on the market.” Well, while it may be true that the liquid form would allow you to absorb more of the hoodia, since hoodia gordonii is a worthless diet pill ingredient, it wouldn’t make much difference at all anyway. Absorbing something worthless is still worthless even when you absorb it better.

This review will take a deeper look into Hoodia Chaser to see if it offers anything other than the worthless ingredient that graces it’s label.

Ingredients

Hoodia Gordonii (400 mg)

Garcinia Cambogia (50 mg)

Green Tea (50 mg)

Proprietary Blend (100 mg)

Protease

Amylase

Cellulase

Lipase

Inverlase

Lactase

Maltase

Papain

Bromelain

Hoodia Gordonii - If I’ve said it once on this site, I’ve said it a thousand times. Hoodia gordonii is a fad ingredient that has become very popular, and all for no good reason. There is no legitimate research backing it up and is always surrounded by a myriad of sketchy marketing tactics.

Garcinia Cambogia - Has been shown is some studies to aid in weight loss through appetite suppression. Is 50 mg enough to be effective? It’s hard to say.

Green Tea - Green tea is a proven diet pill ingredient that has mounds of research backing it up. The caveat here is that Hoodia Chaser has a mere 50 mg in the solution. At that amount, it’s not going to do anything for you.

The other ingredients included have not been proven to aid in weight loss.

Hoodia Chaser’s Marketing

We see a common thread in marketing among the many hoodia pushing diet supplements. Hoodia Chaser is no different, posting TV and news logos to add some kind of perceived credibility. And of course the ever present hoodia “certificate” of authenticity. You’ll often see the exact same “certificate” on the majority of the sites. Bottom line, it’s fake and useless. It’s all just hype.

Hoodia Chaser’s Price

$19.95 will get you bottle.

Hoodia Chaser’s Guarantee

They do offer a 90 day money back guarantee on all unused and unopened bottles. This is actually a decent guarantee.

Conclusion

Hoodia Chaser is nothing more than another hoodia based diet supplement that will do little more than cost you money. The primary ingredient is worthless and the other ingredients aren’t included in high enough amounts to be effective. The price is pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for in this case. We highly recommend looking for something with all proven ingredients included at the right amounts. Thumbs down for Hoodia Chaser.

Between the sketchy claims of miraculous over night weight loss, there is some evidence that the key ingredient in this pill could be an effective weight loss ingredient. The main ingredient in Accelis is corosolic acid, which is derived from a plant called Lagerstroemia speciosa grown in the Philippines. Corosolic acid has been shown in credible studies to support normal glucose levels. However, the non-referenced study, that they claim proves this supplement will help you lose weight, was done on the Lagerstroemia speciosa alone, not on the actual Accelis supplement. Since they do not disclose how much Lagerstroemia speciosa the Accelis formula contains (probably not much with a proprietary blend of only 30 mg total) it’s not very credible to compare the study with the actual product.

Accelis Ingredients

Corosolic Acid

Banaba

Green Tea

Oolong Tea

White Tea

Chamomile

Passionflower

Soy Phospholipids

The key ingredient in Accelis (corosolic acid ) shows promise as a weight-loss promoter if taken at a correct dosage. The other ingredients do not appear to be particularly effective for weight-loss since all of the tea extracts have been decaffeinated. However, since the ingredients are part of a proprietary blend with only 30 mg of active ingredients, there may not be enough of anything in this formula to exhibit much effect.

Lagerstroemia speciosa l. extract (also known as Banaba): (Standardized for 3% corosolic acid). Banaba has been shown to be effective in studies of diabetic animals or humans as a blood glucose regulator. As a diet pill supplement, it may help prevent sugars from converting to fat.

Caffeine-free green tea extract (as Camellia sinensis): Green tea does have weight-loss supporting properties, and may lower triglycerides & cholesterol levels. However, when decaffeinated, green tea appears to lose it’s thermogenic weight loss promoting properties.

Caffeine-free Oolong Tea Extract: Again, tea extract loses potency without it’s natural caffeine.

Caffeine-free White Tea Extract: While tea extracts do have several non-weight loss related health benefits associated with them, it’s important to note that without it’s natural caffeine, it is likely ineffective as a thermogenic supplement.

Chamomile extract (as Matricaria recutita): Considered a calming herb that helps the digestive system, but it not known to effect weight loss. It is probably included since Accelis is a “night-time” formula.

Passionflower extract (as Passiflora incarnata): Another calming herb that may help people with sleep disorder, insomnia, stress and anxiety.

Soy phospholipids: May assist in menopausal symptoms, premenstrual syndrome and osteoporosis. It shows promise for angina, cardiovascular disease and hyperlipemia, but not known to assist in weight loss.

Accelis Marketing

Accelis is marketed as a nighttime formula where “2 easy-to-swallow, stimulant-free, rapid-release softgel capsules taken together in one easy serving before bed will deliver accelerated weight loss.” Accelis is also heavily marketed with study claims that may not mean anything in regards to this weight-loss pill at all, since the study only researches the key ingredient in an undisclosed dosage. That means that the effective dose could very well be much higher than the does found in this supplement, which is very likely since the proprietary blend of all ingredients is a relatively small amount.

Accelis Price

AT $19.49 a bottle, this is fairly inexpensive compared to other diet pills. At 40 Softgels per bottle it will last 20 days.

Accelis Guarantee

This product has only a 30-day money back guarantee, which is brarely enough time to determine if you like the product. But it’s still slightly better than no guarantee at all.

Conclusion

Corosolic acid has been used for years to lower blood sugar levels in diabetics. However, diabetics need their blood sugar regulated because their body does not do it on its own. Presumably if you are not diabetic and your body is already properly regulating glucose, then taking Accelis could theoretically disturb your body’s natural glucose functioning.

On the other hand, there have not been very many serious side-effects reported with this supplement, so it is probably reasonably safe. Whether or not it’s effective for weight loss is a whole different question. With the tea extracts all lacking their natural caffeine, they are likely not very effective. However, we at least give it credit for containing a few good ingredients (albeit in a small dose), and for being affordable.

The price is affordable, but yet the guarantee is less than impressive. We do not recommend this as a diet supplement due to the relatively small amount of proven proprietary ingredients. However, it may be worth trying if you don’t mind being out $20 bucks if it doesn’t work as miraculously as the manufacturer claims it does, which we suspect it doesn’t.

Smartburn™ with Hoodia (for women) promises “450% more weight lose than diet and exercise alone.” First off, any diet pill that relies on such outrageous claims is almost always a scam. In any case, this statement is highly misleading.

They base that claim on a study (which they do not source) that they state found that using some of the key ingredients (Garcinia cambogia extract, chromium polynicotinate and Gymnema sylvestre extract) found in this diet pill helped participants, on average, lose more weight than subjects using a placebo. Supposing that this study is legitimate, it still wouldn’t prove that this particular pill is effective since the study would likely have had to use large amounts of any ingredient to produce such dramatic effects. Keep in mind that the study did NOT involve SmartBurn, but only some of the ingredients found in SmartBurn. However, SmartBurn does not disclose how much of those ingredients they use in their product, which suggests that it might not be very much. In fact, their entire proprietary formula is only 1.64 grams per serving.

SmartBurn’s Ingredients

• Calcium
• Chromium Polynicotinate
• Potassium
• Garcinia cambogia
• Gymnema sylvestre
• Rhodiola rosea extract (roseroot)
• Theanine
• Astaxanthin
• Hoodia gordonii
• Vinpocetine
• Green tea
• N-acetyl tyrosine
• Soy phospholipids
• California Poppy
• Hawthorne
• Dong Quai

Quality of Ingredients

There are definitely a few good ingredients. There’s some evidence that calcium may be useful for weight loss.

Chromium may have positive effects on insulin function. Initial research suggests that garcinia cambogia extract does not appear to support weight loss.

Gymnema sylvestre extract in the correct dosage may affect blood glucose levels by reducing its absorption in the intestines, but there is not enough research available to properly rate the effectiveness of this ingredient for weight loss.

Rhodiola rosea extract (roseroot) is an adaptogen like ginseng said to increase energy and boost immune function.

Green tea in the right amount can be a good addition to any fat burning formula. Theanine is found in green tea.

Astaxanthin is an antioxidant similar to beta carotene. While antioxidants are good for you, they will not necessarily help you lose weight. In any case, you may as well spend the money on a clinically researched dosage found in good multi-vitamins.

Hoodia’s appetite-suppressing qualities are based more on hype than science.

Vinpocetine may have a slight effect on elevating metabolism, but so far that’s only speculation.

N-acetyl tyrosine may effect mood in a positive manner, but it does not appear to have any weight-loss effectiveness. In high doses soy can be helpful for reducing total cholesterol levels and LDL cholesterol.

As for the other ingredients, there is currently not enough research to say whether they are effective ingredients to include in a weight-loss supplement.

Again, because most of the ingredients in this pill are in hidden amounts within a “proprietary blend” there is no way to know if any of the listed ingredients in these pills are in a high enough dose to be effective.

SmartBurn’s Price

A 30-day supply costs $77.97 + $9.95 shipping and handling charges. $87.92 is a lot of money for a diet pill that doesn’t list clinically proven ingredients in clinically proven amounts. Whenever diet pills do not list ingredient amounts, you may be paying for a whole lot of nothing.

Money-back Guarantee

There is no money back guarantee listed on the official website. This is never a good sign! Thumbs down.

Conclusion

While there are some quality ingredients in this formula, they are probably not in a high enough dosage be significantly effective. It’s not a good sign that the marketing for this product focuses on the claim that it contains hoodia, since hoodia has not been found to be an effective weight loss ingredient in spite of its initial hype. For these reasons we do not recommend this diet pill, especially since there is not money-back guarantee. You’re better off saving your money for a pill that contains clinically proven ingredients in clinically proven amounts that also has clear money-back guarantee policy.

As you can see, Leptorexin has one of the biggest ingredient lists of any diet pill on the market. Some diet pills will do this to appear much more credible than they really are, but this isn’t necessarily the case all the time. Leptorexin includes almost all of their ingredients in proprietary blends which makes it extremely difficult to say whether or not they will be effective. The size of some of the blends looks as though they have the potential pack enough of the ingredients in, but not all. Good or bad, it’s difficult to tell.

There are quite a few ingredients that have been proven to be effective (green tea, caffeine, and synephrine to name a few) but there are also alot of ingredients that haven’t. Please click on the links to the ingredients listed above to see a full review on the ingredients. If there’s not a review, chances are it’s not too effective of an ingredient.

Leptorexin’s Marketing

Their website is pretty straight forward with a clear focus on ingredients, which we like. They’ve avoided the ever present before and after photos which is always a plus as well.

We did notice, however, that the product’s design looks incredibly similar to PatenTrim’s. It appears that Leptorexin is trying to add some credibility to their product by basing the design off of an effective and increasingly popular diet pill that already on the market. Whether or not this tactic works, I don’t know. But in the least it shows some lack of creativity juices on their part.

They also employ some other commonly seen sales tactics such as posting logos for news channels and such to try to seem more credible. I haven’t checked, but it’s a sure bet that Leptorexin hasn’t appeared on any of them. They also claim that it will “be sold out in 72 hours” and that you should “buy now before it’s too late !” Interestingly enough, when I saw the site last week it said the same thing.

Leptorexin’s Price

$59.99 is a pretty decent price for a quality diet pill.

Leptorexin’s Guarantee

They do have a fantastic lifetime money back guarantee on all unopened bottles. We like to see anything over 60 days, so this lifetime guarantee is obviously head and shoulders above many other diet pills.

Conclusion

Leptorexin provides an ingedient list a mile long. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it doesn’t mean that it’s a good thing either. The proprietary blend makes it difficult to guage its effectiveness even though the levels appear to be high enough in some cases. We aren’t fans of their marketing with the old sales tactics and the copied design. The price is pretty reasonable and the guarantee is good. Leptorexin gets a pretty neutral review from us.

You can purchase Leptorexin directly through the Leptorexin website.

CreVax is marketed as an being able to get rid of depression and help you lose weight at the same time because it “utilizes natural ingredients found in depression medication”, which is a dubious claim at best. In fact, the official site is riddled with dubious claims and questionable before and after pictures that according to several customer reviews also appear on competing diet pill sites! Their gimmicky homepage with outrageous claims strongly suggests that their product is also very likely a gimmick.

“Imagine losing weight fast and naturally while improving your health, mind, and body” the site claims. You’ll have to imagine it, because in reality it probably won’t happen. The ingredients are not impressive, and the sketchy money-back guarantee is a strong indication that they fully expect customers to want to return the product.

CreVax’s Ingredients

The manufacturer does not disclose the amount of each ingredient contained in the product, which means that there could be less than .000001% of any given ingredient in the pill.

Hoodia Gordonii

Guarana

Taurine

Jiaogulan

Wolf Berry

Bao Shao

Quality of Ingredients

Taurine - Is an organic acid often added to energy drinks. Studies have shown it does not affect energy.

Guarana - Has been shown to possibly contribute to weight loss when combined with damiana and yerba mate. CreVax does not contain either of these ingredients.

Green tea - Has been shown to promote weight loss in large doses (at least 300 mg of green tea per day or more). However, the formula in CreVax likely does not have anywhere near that amount of green tea.

Hoodia gordonii - Is an overhyped ingredient with no clinical backing to show that it makes any contribution to weight loss.

The other ingredients have little to no known weight-loss promoting properties.

CreVax’s Price

CreVax is expensive at $69.95 for one bottle. Each bottle contains 60 capsules, which will last 50 days.

Money-back Guarantee

CreVax only has a 30-day money-back guarantee. Not only is that too short of a window for a diet pill (even with an effective pill it’s hard to know if it’s working without at least a 60-day guarantee), but here’s the real kicker—customer’s claim that they will only let you return a bottle that is NOT OPENED. They may justify this by the last line on the guarantee statement on the page after you click the order Crevax button. It states that only undamaged returned bottles will be refunded.

Conclusion

CreVax is a very gimmicky diet pill. Don’t waste your money. Any diet pill that claims to help you lose double digit pounds in one week is not going to be legitimate. You’ll be much better off spending your money on a diet pill that uses proven ingredients in proven amounts.

Curvelle is marketed as being specifically for women, even though there is nothing gender-specific about any of the ingredients.

Curvelle’s Ingredients

Proprietary mix:

Raspberry

Elderberry

Cinnamon

Green Tea

Quality of Ingredients

Caffeine - Is an effective stimulant that has been shown to increase energy levels as well as your metabolism. It is an effective diet pill ingredient.

Green Tea - Has been proven in many clinical studies to aid in weight loss through its strong fat burning capabilities.

While the above mentioned ingredients are, in fact, good ingredients, because they don’t disclose how much of each is included, it’s difficult to say if there’s enough in there to make a difference.

As for the other ingredients, the manufacturer claims studies involving rats have shown some promise with the raspberry extract, but overall there is little to no evidence that anything in this diet pill will effectively help a human being lose weight. Additionally, because it is a “proprietary blend” there is no way to know how much of the listed ingredients these pills even contain.

Curvelle’s Price

Especially considering the less than impressive ingredients you’re getting, $49.99 is a lot of money. The recommended dosage for Curvelle is to take 2 capsules 2-3 times daily, which means that at 3 servings per day one $49.99 bottle of Curvelle will only last you just over 2 weeks. That means you could easily have to spend over $100 (considering S&H) a month.

Money-back Guarantee

To their credit, Isatoris does offer a 100% 60-day money back guarantee if you buy from them directly. That falls short of the 90-day guarantee we recommended, but it’s still better than many diet pill manufacturers offer. However, to receive a full refund of the purchase price, you have to supply the original sales receipt (not a photocopy) and either the unused (or used) tub or bottle of the iSatori product purchased (or the proof of purchase—UPC code).

Conclusion

While Curvelle certainly isn’t the worst diet pill out there, it’s not one of the best either. It does have a money-back guarantee, which is a plus, but in our opinion you probably aren’t getting your money’s worth to begin with.

This diet pill review will help you decide for yourself if Dexatrim Max is all that it claims to be by looking at their ingredients, marketing, price and guarantee.

Ingredients

Thiamin (15 mg)

Riboflavin (17 mg)

Niacin (200 mg)

Vitamin B6 (10 mg)

Vitamin B12 (60 mcg)

Pantothenic Acid (25 mg)

Chromium (200 mcg)

Proprietary Blend (300 mg)

Green Tea

Oolong Tea

Ginseng (250 mg)

Chromium - While some believe it helps in blood sugar regulation, it has yet to be shown in studies that it helps with weight loss.

Green Tea - A proven weight loss ingredients, green tea helps by boosting your metabolism.

Oolong Tea - Has yet to be proven in clinical studies to help with weight loss.

Ginseng - The jury is still as to the effectiveness of ginseng as a weight loss supplement. Don’t count on it doing much.

The other ingredients are good vitamins and such for your overall health, but have not been proven to help you lose weight at all.

Dexatrim Max has one solid ingredient, green tea. You’ll notice that the only ingredients that are in the proprietary blend are green tea and oolong tea. That blend has 300 mg to share among the two. Now why would you bother using a proprietary blend for only two ingredients unless it would be obvious if they disclosed it that there’s not enough green tea to be effective? Seems kind of obvious to me. There’s likely not enough green tea included to be very effective.

Dexatrim Max’s Marketing (or lack thereof)

As mentioned before, there is virtually no information about the product aside from a cute little sales pitch and the product label. While we like that this is straight forward and doesn’t have any hyped up marketing (before and after photos, fabricated testimonials, etc.), we would like to see a little more information about the ingreidents included. Maybe it’s just a personal thing. Oh, and their flash based website is kinda annoying.

Dexatrim Max’s Price

You can usually find it online for under $20. That’s a very inexpensive diet pill, but be warned, you usually get what you pay for (at least when you pay low amounts).

Dexatrim Max’s Guarantee

No guarantee

Conclusion

The price is low, but so is the quality factor. The one ingredient that would be effective (green tea) is hidden in a proprietary blend so we don’t know much of it is included. As mentioned before, however, the makeup of that blend leads us to believe that there wont be the correct amounts in order to be effective. They also don’t have a guarantee. We would be generous to give Dexatrim Max a mediocre review. Look elsewhere if you want to really lose weight.

Also, “In addition to these ten unsurpassed ingredients, each serving of Slim 10® contains 500mg of Real South African Hoodia concentrated 20 times for maximum potency.” This is rather unfortunate as hoodia is probably the worst diet pill ingredient on the market, not because of its danger, but because it does absolutely nothing for you despite all the hype lately. It appears Slim 10 tagged on hoodia in hopes to borrow some attention from the hype surrounding hoodia. This diet pill review will give try to give you a good look at Slim 10 so you can decide for youself if it may work for you.

ChromeMate - ChromeMate (an oxygen-coordinated niacin-bound form of chromium) is designed to promote weight loss through regulation of blood sugar levels.

Super Citrimax - Has been shown to be an effective appetite suppressant.

Phase 2 - Phase 2 is a starch neutralizer which helps to block calories. While by itself it may not cause direct weight loss, it is a good supplement to other good ingredients.

NeOpuntia - A fiber complex that binds with fat and makes it unable to be absorbed in your inestines. The fat is hence passed through the body naturally without being absorbed.

Advantra Z - Contains synephrine which has been shown in some studies to be an effective stimulant. Some warn of side effects common with stimulants.

Slimaluma - Designed to be an appetite suppressant, I was unable to find much research on Slimaluma.

CarniPure - A patented form of L-carnitine. We are doubtful that this patented form is any better than regular old L-carnitine. As of yet, there is no research that shows that it aids in weight loss.

ForsLean - Clinical studies and research has shown that ForsLean helps to reduce body weight and body fat.

Tonalin CLA - Reduces body fat. CLA is one of the few diet pill ingredients that is actually supported by a large amount of clinical research.

7-Keto - Studies show it is effective in weight loss, but some warn of side effects such as heart palpitations.

Gordonilex - Slim 10’s name for their version of hoodia gordonii. They claim that it is 20 times the potentcy of regular hoodia. No matter how you slice it, hoodia is worthless. 20 x 0 still equals 0.

Slim 10 has definitely included some quality diet pill ingredients. They also have a few filler ingredients meant to fool you. But overall, the ingredient profile is good. They do, of course, use a proprietary blend which hides the amounts of each ingredient. This makes it difficult to say whether or not each ingredient will be effective.

Slim 10’s Marketing

We like that they have a clear focus on ingredients throughout their website. They do have a few questionable before and after photos, but all in all it seems to have less hype than some that we’ve seen. We don’t however like that they’re touting hoodia as another of their miracle ingredients. They did pretty good up until that point.

Slim 10’s Price

$75 for a one month supply. This is pretty pricey. You are getting patented ingredients (which cost more), but just because their patented doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re better.

Slims 10’s Guarantee

They have a 90 day money back guarantee. We like to see at least 90 days in a guarantee. You also have to pay a restocking fee of about $8. Little steap I would say.

Conclusion

Slim 10 touts a pretty impressive ingredient profile with the exception of a handful of ingredients. They throw hoodia in (trying to capitalize on its popularity) which makes us like them less. Their price is pretty expensive (Anoretix has similar ingredients for a lower price) and their guarantee is so so. Slim will probably help you lose weight, but there are also probably a couple better alternatives for you out there in terms of ingredients, price and guarantee. A pretty neutral review goes to Slim 10.

Calotren is simply a basic collagen supplement made by Top of the World Distributors (TOTWD). Right from the get-go the manufacturer makes several misleading claims. While it’s true that the “collagen protein supports the lean muscle tissue” that is only true in regards to the collagen your body naturally produces. There is no scientific proof whatsoever that taking a collagen supplement will increase your lean muscle mass, so the statement that “Calotren® is actually assisting your body with its natural burning of fats and sugars by building the lean muscle tissue” is misleading at best.

Calotren is available in two different forms: Liquid and Capsules.

Ingredients

Calotren Liquid:

Collagen

Oxygenated Water

Aloe Vera, Glycerin

Methyl Paraben

Potassium Sorbate

Calotren Capsules:

Collagen

Aloe Vera Glycerin

Questionable Ingredients
It’s worth noting that there is NOT A SINGLE INGREDIENT in either of these formulas that is known to promote weight loss. Perhaps they hope that by including a laxative (Aloe Vera) and a strict instruction to not eat anything three hours before taking the pill will do the trick. Laxatives and food restriction seems to be their real plan for helping you lose weight! But even if that unhealthy route is something you’re interested in then buying laxatives and starving yourself on your own is definitely going to be the cheaper alternative to purchasing Calotren.

Calotren’s Price

$69.95 is a ridiculous price for such a product.

No Money-back Guarantee

When it comes to Calotren’s “guarantee” you have to wonder if they named their company “Top of the World” because that’s where they have to hide out (at the North Pole?) when customers try to get their money back when they find the product doesn’t work. On their official site there is no indication that they offer a money-back guarantee, which is never a good sign. Not having an upfront money-back guarantee is often a tell-tale sign that a company does not want to deal with the huge number of unsatisfied customers that were disappointed in the products results. Again, you’ll want to keep in mind that none of the ingredients in Calotren are known to promote weight loss. There are no scientific studies available to support the manufacturer’s claims whatsoever. If the product worked, don’t you think there would be at least one study to back up their claims?

Sneaky Marketing

Additionally, the manufacturer tells you that “We recommend that everyone start with the 90-day program…The collagen must have time to work at supporting the lean muscle tissue before the changes in your body are noticed.”

So they basically admit that you probably won’t notice anything in the first 90 days of taking the product, which isn’t surprising since they are selling a product with no known weight loss promoting properties. This is a commonly used marketing tactic in the diet pill industry since after 90 days your chances of getting a refund are 0%, while your chances of wanting one will likely be closer to 100%!

Conclusion

Calotren includes ineffective ingredients, doesn’t disclose the amounts of those ingredients, and has no guarantee. Thumbs down for Calotren.
